Extended Surface II™ CP20
- Extremely high performance
- Very thin and lightweight
- Ideal for use with EGW, oils etc.
- Very low pressure drop
DescriptionLytron’s CP20 is a compact and lightweight aluminum cold plate, consisting of header tubes welded to a unique micro-channel aluminum extrusion. Its high performance and small size makes it ideal for cooling small, high watt-density components.
The CP20 is an extremely high performance cold plate. The CP20’s low thermal resistance is achieved by the thin mounting surface and internal fin, which creates a large surface area, 12 in² (77 cm²)/linear inch of tube, for heat transfer. Coolant flows below the entire cold plate surface, offering excellent thermal uniformity. Very thin and lightweight at only 0.13" (3.3 mm) thick and 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg), the CP20 is ideal for applications where space is limited.
The CP20’s large internal surface area combined with its low pressure drop makes it ideal for use with viscous and poor heat transfer fluids such as ethylene glycol/water (EGW), oils, Fluorinert®, and polyalphaolefin (PAO). The laminar flow induced by the parallel internal fins results in a low pressure drop - less than 2 psi at 0.5 gpm with 30% EGW coolant.
