The PLD series comes in 5 models (200mA, 500mA, 1.25A, 5A, and 10A), and operates from a single +5V DC supply. It combines the high performance that you expect from a Wavelength component with two distinct improvements: low voltage operation from +5V DC, and an Active Current Limit. Operating from a single +5V supply minimzes heat dissipation. Modular packaging makes it easy to integrate the PLD into your system. The newest PLD10K-CH does not incorporate the heat sink and is therefore available in a smaller OEM package.

For applications that require a higher forward voltage, a separate laser diode power supply inputs lets you provide a higher compliance voltage. The active current limit not only protects your laser-diode, but ensures that you are operating with maximum stability
