DescriptionThe metalized film capacitors of General Atomics Electronic Systems CMX Series are self-healing energy storage capacitors in welded metal cans. They represent GA-ES´s highest energy density capacitors up to 3.0J/cc. Two low profile, high voltage bushings isolated from the case is the standard circuit configuration for Series CMX.
A four terminal configuration supplied on the 255 kJ units provides two capacitors in one case that can be connected in series or in parallel. Custom single terminal and multiple terminal designs are available upon request. The capacitors are furnished with internal "bleeder resistors" to provide a means to discharge the capacitor should it become disconnected from external circuitry. The time constant for self-discharge is 5,000-10,000 seconds. Low inductance options are available.
