Description

The PowerReach 8040 TRX is a 300-pin MSA transponder module is intended to be used at 10 Gb/s optical SDH and SONET bit rates, providing electrical access at lower than 1/16 bit rate. The module is housed in a small form factor package. As part of the PowerReach 300-pin MSA transponder product line, this 8040 transponder provides convenient and flexible optical interfaces for SONET / SDH and 10GbE systems operating at 9.9 up to 10.7 Gb/s and exceeds the applicable ITU-T G.692, ITU-T G.709, Telcordia GR-253 and Optical Interworking Forum SFI4-01.0 standards. The transmitter is a cooled 1.5µm EA-ILM laser. Two detectors can be selected: PIN-Preamp or APD-Preamp. A single or dual rate jitter filter can also be specified. The jitter filter is bypassed if other rates are selected.
