MEMS switches provide rapid fiber optic switching capability in a miniature and rugged package suitable for direct mounting on PCBs. As well as being Telcordia GR 1221 qualified, MEMS switches feature fast response, solid state reliability and accurate precision. Configuration options include singlemode, multimode or polarisation maintaining fiber compatibility and latching or non-latching switching.
