October news from AMS UK
Roadshow 2012 – Southampton University
The AMS Technologies roadshow is coming to Southampton University, on Tuesday 16th October at Building 53 (B53 – the Mountbatten building) room # 3028
Products on display include: Fiber amplifier,Heat Sinks and Cooler Plates, Lenses, Capacitors and Relays, Optical switches, Temperature controllers. Our sales engineers, Dilesh Kothari & Khalid Abou el Kabir will be available to answer any questions.

Fiber amplifier
EDFA There is a growing trend to favour the 2 micron solution to be used in R&D, Optical component testing or remote sensing. AMS provides the Thulium doped fiber amplifiers which are designed for eye safe operation between 1900 and 2000 nm with up to 33 dBm of saturated output power. These amplifiers are available in user-friendly turnkey benchtop instruments or in modules.

Aspheric lenses
Moulded Aspherics provide comparable if not superior performance to traditional, more expensive multi-elements lens assemblies. Blue Laser collimating aspherics simplify the design of laser systems for biomedical instrumentation such as cytometers, fluorescence detection and high volume data storage applications. Glass aspheric lenses can also be moulded directly into a mechanical housing for micro assemblies to aid handling and accurate positioning in an optical system such as precision metrology applications. Tunable lasers hit the spot
Small, compact, tunable and reliable all features that are required of a tunable laser source. Orignailly developed for telecommunicaitons systems this device can be used in sensing or metrology systems. When combined with an optical amplifier the result is a high power widely tunable source. This can be used in FBG based systems to interrogate several sensing points.
